MotoGP is the world’s premier motorcycling championship, with a season of 18 Grands Prix in 14 countries bringing together the world’s top motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki, Aprilia and KTM – plus an elite crop of riders from every corner of the globe.
MRL were brought in to review all aspects of audience management and welfare and traffic management at the 2006 UK MotoGP, at Donington Park. Our safety manager was called in early in the morning to an entry point that had a queue of 2,000 people. We rapidly identified an alternative entrance, deployed resources and personnel and were soon processing audience members at a rate of 80 per minute. This reduced the queue within 30 minutes.
