First Aid at Work Course (3 days)
This course delivers the full syllabus for the candidate to be recognised as a First Aid at Work provider. On completion of this course the candidate will have a full grounding in the principals of primary and secondary care, including the practical application of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Content
- Scene assessment
- Aseptic techniques and barrier use
- Basic CPR
- Conscious and unconscious patient care
- Identifying various ailments and injuries
- Basic wound management
- Immobilisation of fractures, dislocations and strains
- The management and care of various injuries (burns, shock, allergic reactions and fractures)
Available additions to this course are:
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- Primary oxygen therapy and use
The course is recognised by the Health & Safety Executive and the certificate is valid for 3 years. The HSE strongly recommend that annual refresher training is undertaken to maintain skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid procedures.
