Healthcare Resilience
Case Study - Healthcare Resilience Project
- National project
- Scoping and development
- Programme management
Following a National Capability Survey in 2006, MRL was commissioned by the Department of Health to complete a comprehensive scoping of level of understanding and appreciation of business continuity management across the NHS. This scoping work set the foundation for developing a three year strategy establishing the NHS Resilience Project. The project would set the pace and standard for the NHS to be aligned with other government departments and other category 1 responders to be resilient to a wide range of disruptive challenges such as pandemic influenza, flooding and energy disruption.
Following acceptance of the strategy by the Department of Health, MRL staff were then invited to lead on the programme management to oversee implementation of this national project.
