John King

John King, Project Manager

John spent 24 years in the Armed Forces before joining MRL as a Project Manager in June 2007. During his time in the Army John served in Ethiopia, Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Kosovo. He has qualified and worked as a Generator Electrician, Plant and Crane Instructor, Physical Training Instructor, Adventurous Training Instructor, Scuba Diving Instructor and Health & Safety Officer.

While serving in Ethiopia, John was part of a team who gave medical and logistical support to the famine relief effort. In Bosnia he was part of a United Nations peace keeping force, and in Kosovo he was involved with the management of refugees fleeing the war in Kosovo.

He gained his NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety in 2005 as part of his Military Resettlement package, and is currently studying for the Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. He is also a qualified Industrial Rope Assess Technician, and is accredited to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) and the ASP (Association of Stage Pyrotechnicians).
