Event Controls/ELT

Over the past five years MRL Limited have become the UK's leading provider of ELTs and event controls to the entertainment industry.

What is an ELT?

ELT is one of many phrases used to describe an event control centre which manages the safe and efficient running of an event.

The term ELT, which stands for Emergency Liaison Team or Event Liaison Team was first used in London nearly a decade ago, but the name doesn't really describe what an ELT actually does. One of the main purpose of the ELT is to be an event control, which coordinates a number of actions from a number of agencies from both the event management side and the emergency services. The other key role is to act as an on-site focal point for a number of agencies should a major incident occur at the event.

Other similar phrases which are often used instead of ELT are:

  • ELC (Event Liaison Centre)
  • JOCC (Joint Operating Coordination Centre)
  • JIC (Joint Incident Centre)
