John King
John King is MRL's latest addition to the team, he left the armed forces in 2006 and joined MRL in a summer of festivals including Knowsley Hall, V-North, Creamfields and 02 Wireless.
John spent 24 years in the Armed Forces before joining MRL as a Project Manager in June 2007, he served on Operations in Ethiopia, Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Kosovo.
During his time in the Army John, amongst other things had qualified and worked as a Generator Electrician, Plant and Crane instructor, Physical Training Instructor, Adventurous Training Instructor, Scuba Diving Instructor and a Health & Safety Officer.
Whilst serving in Ethiopia John was part of a team who gave support both medically and logistically to the famine relief effort. In Bosnia he was part of a United Nations peace keeping force and in Kosovo he was involved with the management of refugees fleeing the war in Kosovo.
He gained his NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety in 2005 as part of his Military Resettlement package, and is currently studying for the Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. He is also a qualified Industrial Rope Assess Technician, and is accredited to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) and the ASP (Association of Stage Pyrotechnicians).
